Bionic surely pine for the days of cocksure hard rockers like Iggy Pop. Their raw take on swaggering '70s hard rock swings for the fences, and is aggressive without bullying, and sexy without coming on too strong. If anything, Bionic's defining characteristic is a sense of fun too often missing from rock music. The title track stomps through a haze of bong-smoke like Queens of the Stone Age, and "Silver Jet Plane" roars like its namesake, all forward motion and wind-tunnel gyrations.
