When you think of death metal, think of Obituary. The Florida band is one of the primary reasons this grim genre flourished in their impossibly sunny home state, and they've been inseparable from death for almost 20 years of recordings. Their new EP, LEFT TO DIE, is a four-song blast from an open grave. Long time fans will recognize "Slowly We Rot" from Obituary's classic debut of the same name. It's been re-recorded and given a spit-polish that makes it sound a bit clearer than it did in its 1989 incarnation. Also present is a cover of prime influence Celtic Frost's "Dethroned Emperor," another nod to Obituary's past, as they also covered Celtic Frost on the landmark CAUSE OF DEATH album.
