As might be suspected, this posthumously released collection of songs from the great Cuban singer Celia Cruz celebrates some of her most romantic and passionate pieces, albeit not her most well known. Still, they do the trick, showing off the gorgeous bittersweet quality of both Cruz's voice and the son itself, especially on tracks like "Plazos Traicioneros," "Esperaré," and "Desencanto," making for an altogether affecting compilation. ~ Marisa Brown minimize
