Like fellow supergroups Velvet Revolver and the Panic Channel, Circus Diablo draws some of its membership from the 1990s hard-rock elite, namely the Cult and Fuel. Including vocalist Billy Morrison (Camp Freddy, former bassist for the Cult), guitarist Billy Duffy (the Cult), and bassist Brett Scallions (former singer for Fuel), the Los Angeles-based band excels at no-frills guitar-driven tunes that are anchored by session drummer Matt Sorum (also of the Cult and Velvet Revolver). A showcase for Morrison's raspy voice and Duffy's blazing riffs (see the energetic anthem "Loaded"), the self-titled album hearkens back to the heyday of Guns N' Roses, L.A.
