On their seventh album, Lonestar continue to ply their trade: mainstream contemporary country in the Nashville traditionalist style of Alan Jackson or Alabama. As always, the quartet's music is rooted in country from the pre-Garth Brooks age, with few of the soft-rock influences endemic to early-21st century Nashville. Songs like the title track and the sweet-natured single "Nothing To Prove" recall the glory days of folks like Randy Travis, Clint Black, and George Strait. Elsewhere, the sly "Careful Where You Kiss Me" and the celebratory "Cowboy Girl" play up the band's image as the sensitive but frisky beefcake cowboys, while "Hey God" is another of the band's reoccurring statements of faith. minimize
