The fifth volume of Ministry of Sound's Neue Heimat series trails the fourth by two years, so it shouldn't be too surprising that it holds a slight edge over some of the initial sets in that it has a broader stretch of releases from which to pull. Again, the series highlights releases from mostly German labels that deal in tech-house, minimal house, Microhouse, neo-trance and all hybrids thereof; sleek and often subdued dance music, for the most part. Key tracks include Isolée's "My Hi-Matic," the Lawrence mix of Arp Aubert's "Actress," the Superpitcher mix of Andreas Dorau's "40 Frauen," and Tiefschwarz's "Damage" (featuring Tracey Thorn).
