Rapper Ray Cash may bring some much-needed hip-hop credibility to his native Cleveland, but his debut album CASH ON DELIVERY is tight and catchy enough to transcend regional boundaries. Likewise, Cash's skills as an M.C. are crisp and well-considered, and deserve to be evaluated alongside his high-profile contemporaries from the East Coast, the West Coast, and the Dirty South. There are elements of each of these schools in the smooth-rolling, hardcore music on CASH ON DELIVERY (thanks in part to its fine guest producers), but Cash's style and lyrics, which take on everything from street life to national politics, are distinctly his own. minimize
