Houston rapper Trae gained a fair bit of street credibility after a long string of independent releases, and that credibility is redeemed on the artist's first full-length for Rap-a-Lot, RESTLESS. Packed with tight production and raw, head-nodding beats, Trae represents for the Houston scene with his nimble yet rough-and-rugged delivery. Trae delivers his share of familiar gangsta narratives, but can be surprisingly introspective on tracks like "The Truth" and "Song Cry." Guest appearances by Dirty South stars Paul Wall, Bun B., Three 6 Mafia, and Z-Ro add sparkle to this solid and very promising release. minimize
