This is an abbreviated budget-priced version of the Big Star live album, Columbia, which was recorded live at Missouri University in 1993 with Poesies Jon Auerand Ken Stringfellow joining Alex Chilton and Jody Stephens for a one-off gig. Omitted from the set for this truncated version are Chris Bell's "I Am the Cosmos," "Daisy Glaze," "Way Out West," and a cover of Marc Bolan's "Baby Strange." ~ Steve Leggett

The irony of calling this BMG Special Products release Extended Versions is that it actually shortens the track list from the Big Star album it is drawn from, Columbia, which was recorded live at Missouri University in 1993 with Posies Jon Auer and Ken Stringfellow joining Alex Chilton and Jody Stephens for a one-off gig. Omitted from the set for this truncated version are Chris Bell's "I Am the Cosmos," "Daisy Glaze," "Way Out West," and a cover of Marc Bolan's "Baby Strange."
