These Rhino Flashback compilations -- all reissues, by the way -- are hit and miss, but this one is a bullseye, containing the best from one of the great Southern soulmen. ~ Thom Jurek Collectables' Slip Away is a decent budget-priced ten-track collection containing many of soul singer Clarence Carter's late-'60s and early-'70s Top Ten hits, featuring the original versions of "Slip Away" and "Patches."
