Representing the San Francisco house scene, the Loveslap label has made a name for itself releasing some of the most soulful house music on the West Coast, favoring the sweet femme vocals, bouncing kick and elaborate instrumentation favored by classic East Coast garage-house practitioners such as Blaze and Masters at Work more so than the mellow wallpaper-house of SF stalwarts like Naked Music. In fact, Blaze holds the mix-CD equivalent of the pole position, closing the disc with their classic "Found Love." But this comes after Loveslap DJ star David Harness lays down over an hour of similarly felt house grooves, including his own "Tribal Stomp" with collaborator Charles Spencer, and the ubiquitous DJ Spinna's tribal accents added to Goapele's echo drenched vocal on "Closer." Flute solos abound as do bongo runs and walking basslines. If you're a fan of this sort of high-mindededness, Harness can do know wrong. For those who prefer a more gritty and/or synthetic blend on their house beats, best just move on. ~ Joshua Glazer minimize There are currently no sellers for this product But we can email you when it's available!
