On WAVE HANDS LIKE CLOUDS, Buedi Siebert does the seemingly impossible: he combines power and gentleness in music that perfectly illustrates the principles of yin/yang, a subject that is close to his heart. Yin/yang, a well-known concept based in Eastern philosophy, deals with the meeting of the hard with the soft, or the darkness with the light. In other words, complementary forces provide balance to individuals, to nature, and to the world itself. On WAVE HANDS LIKE CLOUDS, Siebert uses his skills as a classically trained flutist to lend airy lightness to many of the album tracks, while gongs and chimes provide aural grounding. All the tracks are mixed smoothly, flowing into one another, without interrupting the flow of sound energy. This CD is a perfect accompaniment for Tai Chi, Qi Gong, and Reiki.
