If anything a better compilation than THE ESSENTIAL DOLLY PARTON VOLUME ONE, this follow-up sidesteps most of the pop hits covered on the earlier record, aside from 1978's "Here You Come Again." Instead, this set focuses on the earlier material that first made Parton's name, including such classic singles as "Jolene," "Coat of Many Colors," "My Tennessee Mountain Home," and the original 1974 version of "I Will Always Love you," still the definitive rendition of the song. Providing admirable truth and balance is the jaw-dropping "Me and Little Andy," a dead-child-and-her-dog ballad that is perhaps the most unintentionally campy song in Parton's entire oeuvre. Together, the two compilations--not to mention the equally terrific THE ESSENTIAL PORTER WAGONER AND DOLLY PARTON--provide a well-balanced overview of most of Dolly Parton's best and most popular work of the '70s and '80s. minimize There are currently no sellers for this product But we can email you when it's available!
