Like forebears Mano Negra, Los Amigos Invisibles flit around in styles, fitting neatly into none. In keeping with its tradition, 2009's COMMERCIAL is all over the map, yet follows a certain apparent logic. Much of the record revels in the many sounds of the 1970s, from the P-Funkin' "Plastic Woman" to the disco soul balladry of "Vivire Para Ti" to the flat-out yacht rock of "In Luv With U," while some tracks veer into unlikely places like the British dance rock of "Como Sabes Tu" or the Mexican hill-folk of "Oyeme Nena." It is on single "Mentiras" where it all comes together, an odd, divinely catchy meld of tens of sounds of the preceding decade of pop. minimize
