As with his previous band, Eighteen Visions, James Hart mingles 1980s glam metal love with '90s grunge and '00s alternative on Burn Halo's 2009 self-titled debut. Opening track (and single) "Dirty Little Girl" bottles Axl Rose's appetite for destruction, builds a "Paradise City"-size hook, and whips it up to such a fury you can practically taste the hairspray and sawdust swirling around some bangled stage. On "Save Me," Burn Halo mixes Motley Crue excess with Black Crowes Southern comfort. However, "Too Late To Tell You Now" reminds fans Hart can pull off the latter-day monster ballad with the Hoobastanks of this world. minimize
