Personnel: Nate Van Allen, Andy Abrisz, Sean Mulroney, Kevin Flynn (background vocals). Illustrator: Michael Cortada. The Tossers play Celtic punk in the vein of Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly, but they actually formed before those well-known groups. ON A FINE SPRING EVENING is the Chicago six-piece's sixth full-length, and it's an expert blend of traditional Irish instrumentation (mandolin, fiddle, tin whistle, and banjo) and punk rock. Unlike the previous AGONY, this one's a good-times record all the way through, with singer Tony Duggins--sounding as gruff as Shane MacGowan--fixating on liquor ("Whiskey Makes Me Crazy") and girls ("Katie at the Races"). minimize
