Hold on Now, Youngster... (CD - 2008)

Following the 2007 EP STICKING FINGERS INTO SOCKETS, released on Broken Social Scene's Arts and Crafts label, Welsh indie poppers Los Campesinos! make their full-length debut with HOLD ON NOW, YOUNGSTER. (The band name translates, roughly, to The Peasants; all the band members have taken the surname Campesino as well.) Some of the album's best songs are reprised from the EP, including the lengthy anthem "You! Me! Dancing!" and one of the album's most immediately catchy tunes, "Don't Tell Me To Do The Math(s)." Of the wholly new material, highlights include the wry scene parodies "Knee Deep at ATP" (a depiction of a bad weekend at a major music festival) and "This is How You Spell 'Hahaha, We Destroyed The Hopes and Dreams Of A Generation of Faux-Romantics.'"
