Audio Mixers: Tom Biller; Efrim ; Carla Bozulich. Recording information: Thee Mighty Hotel2Tango, Montreal, Canada. After the dissolution of the Geraldine Fibbers, Carla Bozulich started a solo career that culminated in 2006's EVANGELISTA, a collaboration with bassist Tara Barnes that was released by the Canadian post-rock label Constellation Records. HELLO, VOYAGER furthers the experimental bent of that album into a sometimes arrhythmic, occasionally baffling, often oddly beautiful musical world of its own. With members of fellow Constellation bands A Silver Mt. Zion and Godspeed You! Black Emperor backing Bozulich and Barnes, these nine songs range from detuned country blues with echoes of Texas noise freak Jandek to wide-scale, dramatic art-pop similar to Scott Walker's recent work. It's a hard record to crack on first listen, but patience is rewarded. minimize
