The Face of Love (CD - 2006)

Christian rockers Sanctus Real blend elements of post-grunge, indie rock, and emo with messages of faith and devotion. The band sounds very assured on its third outing, THE FACE OF LOVE, with smarter, catchier songcraft, tighter arrangements, and some nice sonic trimmings. The album's opener and first single, "I'm Not All right," is a melodic blast that proves Sanctus Real can be majestic and sweeping, while "Eloquent" is tight and nervous, and the title track merges a post-punk ethos with pop-rock. In all, THE FACE OF LOVE is an impressive showing from one of Christian rock's brighter lights. minimize
