This triple-CD musical accompaniment to massage therapy collects tracks by three complementary performers. The Atlantic Arts Ensemble's section is devoted to colors and precious stones, which are evoked in four subtly shaded pieces that make up the first section. Languid keyboards, gently stroked percussion, and soft ambient noises predominate here.
In the second section, Jorge Alfano's World Ensemble combines breathy electronic textures with more traditional string, wind, and percussion instruments. The final set features maverick cellist David Darling overseeing a variety of classical and traditional world instruments in a quartet of finely calibrated instrumental pieces that range in influence from folk to classical music.
