Janetta Petkus's electronic music is presented here in three parts, representing the doshas (forces of energy) of Ayurveda, the ancient Indian holistic health-care system. For optimal health, all three doshas should be balanced and in harmony with one another. In the first section of Petkus's album, Vata (movement), fast-paced, stringed instruments hop lightly through the composition in sharp, piercing tones. The Pitta (metabolism) portion offers moderately paced keyboards, along with flute music and extended organ chords. Deeper, more dramatic tones dominate the Kapha (structure) section, as exemplified by the Spanish guitar music on the second track. minimize
