We know what you're thinking. All the country superstars of the '90s are just pretty faces who step up to the mike to sing prepackaged material for equally prefabricated albums, right? Think again, pilgrim. Anita Cochran's no Leann or Lorrie, but rather a country star with a difference. Besides being a multi-instrumentalist who demonstrates her facility on guitar, dobro, banjo and mandolin throughout the album (there's even a couple of instrumentals here), she's an accomplished songwriter who composed most of the songs on this album all by her lonesome. BACK TO YOU successfully blends the grand ol' traditions of country music with a modern, more rock-oriented approach that will appeal to both old-timers and country neophytes. minimize
