In the early '80s, Alabama broke the country music mold, blending Southern rock and radio friendly pop with traditional country, gospel, and bluegrass. GREATEST HITS documents the music Alabama made in their prime and includes, as one would expect, their top radio hits. Songs such as "Love In The First Degree" and "40 Hour Week (For a Livin')" are highlights.

Their biggest hit, "My Home's In Alabama" is also found here as are other well-known tracks. On GREATEST HITS, we essentially get a superb thematic cross section of Alabama's seminal years. Themes of love's gain and love's loss as well as archetypal images of rural America are distilled in the music and in the lyrics.
