D-Link AirPlus G DWL-G730AP Wireless Pocket Router/AP

Strengths: Small size, Configurable by a switch as either an Access point, Router or client mode. Reset button resets only the active mode and other modes. Will run off of USB power source.

Weakness: Configuration requires user to manually set a static IP address on PC. Only 1 ethernet port that switches to either lan or wan functions based on mode. Cables are a little bulky and not retractable.

I'm very pleased with this product. As someone who travels it is very versatile. I can use it as an access point at hotels that don't have wireless in the room, thus freeing me from the desk. I've used the Client Access mode to attach to wireless networks, then plug my Vonage voip phone device into. Then I've got my voip phone even at wireless hotels. The option to power from a USB plug is great...

Small, Cute, and Good Value

Strengths: Small size, mobility, has client mode funtionality

This is a cute little thing and it works well too! USB power capabilities are a plus and the equipment seems pretty sturdy for the tiny size. Definitely a winner!

D-Link Wireless-g Pocket Router Review

Strengths: Compact design, easy to set up and strong signal.

Weakness: none so far

D-Link wireless-g pocket router is a much better choice compares to the similar one provided by Netgear. It's easy to set up and the signal is strong with little interference. I think this is really a good buy with proper price.

D-Link Wireless Pocket Router

Strengths: small size. easy setup. can run off a usb port only, so you don't always need the ac adapter.

Weakness: cables would be better if they were retractable, so you wouldn't have so much clutter.

I found this product very easy to install and use. It is small and easy to carry around. Plus it can function as a router, or as a client to connect to existing network. This comes in handy. It comes in a nice carrying zippered case. The only thing i would change, would be to make the cables retractable to reduce clutter.

D-Link Pocket Router

Strengths: Small size; could be used as either a router, an access point or a bridge; up to 54g; backward compatible with 802.11b

Weakness: not 108 or 125 mbps; coverage not large enough if too far from source

It is the best small size pocket router/access point/bridge on the market. You could connect any device with ethernet port wirelessly usind this D-Link pocket router set as a bridge. It could be powered from either a usb port or an AC outlet. I used it to turn a printer server,a web server camera and a Linksys PAP2 VOIP phone adapter into wireless devices. Highly recommended!

Pocket Router!

Strengths: Small footprint. Can be used as a router or access point or client mode

Weakness: none

I purchased this product for me to use while I stay in hotels. Overall it is a great travel router. It can also be used as a wireless access point or in client mode. The option to power the router from a USB port is great and saves time looking for a wll socket. Overall great router for the price I paid of $20.00

D-Link AirPlus G DWL-G730AP Wireless Pocket Router/AP

Strengths: Good design and thought just can't configure

Weakness: Poor support

Purchased 2 for use in my hotel. Couldn't get either to configure. My SMC adapters set up in 2 minutes. I tried 3 different computers and 2 different adapters. Then I let a guest from GE who sets up net works try to configure. He couldn't get it to work either. I'm taking them back tomorrow. Tried calling support. Got cut off after holding for 40 minutes.

Compact, full-of features, and works great!!

Strengths: Most compact travel router, can be powered via USB, easy setup

Weakness: none

This product is the top of its class for a reason. The accesories (USB power cable, flat ethernet cable) are well thought-out, not just generic stuff thrown in. Everything is included in a nice case so this product looks professional when you pull it out to use. The "getting started" guide is easy to understand, and the CD with software and setup information is also simple, for those that aren't...
