Description:
Sing away while the animals play! Through rhythm, rhyme and sing-along songs, little ones can rock out and sharpen learning skills like counting, numbers and animal sound recognition. Younger learners can play with the guitar on the floor, pressing the fret buttons and turning the knob in the center. Older tots can engage in true rock-star style, holding the guitar while it plays. Three fun learning modes can be used in both English and Spanish. In Number Mode, whimsical songs introduce counting. Animal Mode helps kids make the connection between animals and their sounds. And Music Play Mode encourages tuneful freeplay as kids jig along to a lively rendition of "Old MacDonald" while activating a chorus of wacky animal sounds. Requires 3 "AA" batteries, included. Measures 13.5" x 6.5".

fun with the guitar
Strengths: so many fun things to do
Weakness: does not do thing a real guitar can do
If you are looking to please your child with a fun toy that has lots of thing to do this is a solid bet. But if your child wants a guitar to play for real this is not for you. I love it and so does my 18 month old but she has never played with a real guitar.

Leap Frog Guitar
Strengths: Catchy tunes in both English and Spanish.
Weakness: No strings to strum.
My grandson loves to "help" my husband play a real electric guitar, so I thought he would enjoy this guitar learning toy. The toy, however, doesn't hold his interest. It is a cute guitar that teaches counting, animals, and animal sounds in both English and Spanish. He does like using the "whammy" bar that plays catchy phrases, especially the phrase, "I play my guitar who will sing in my band?"

LeapFrog guitar
Strengths: Colorful, English/Spanish, volume control, learn number and animal
Weakness: Not too many functions
Here is what the guitar does: spin the wheel or strum the whammy bar to explore numbers and animals; Pressing the fret button activates rocking guitar riffs and silly sound effects. It has two language setting: English and Spanish; two learning mode: numbers and animals; two volume control. That's it. I bought it because it looks cute, colorful and from LeapFrog. It is consistant with other LF...

A OK product for the price
Strengths: Fun animal sound
Weakness: It'd better to have more songs
The songs are fun, only 2 songs though. My son is 18 months old. He's wiggling with the music.
There are 6 types of animal sound, such as cow, pig, cat, sheep, duck.... My son mimics Qua Qua when he heard the duck singing...
My son refuses to hold the guitar and play. This bothering me. Maybe he'll like it when he gets older.
