Listen to Howard again

Strengths: Record songs with a click of a button Great programming

The programming on Sirius is generally good, and the S50 lets you save good songs just by hitting a button - saves the artist and song title into a list so after you save a few it's like an mp3 player, too. I mostly use this to listen to Howard Stern. I debated spending this much on a radio but I think it's worth it to have the record function, and the Sirius subscription fee is definitely worth...

Sirius S50 Satellite Radio/MP3 Player

Strengths: Sleek, portable & compact design (MP3 player), bright TFT color screen, built-in hard drive.

Weakness: Inability to receive live satellite radio broadcast when not in the docking station, body easily scratches.

Overall, I liked the designed & functionality of this unit. Sound quality is good using the FM transmitter. I also rarely encounter any signal interruptions using the car kit antenna. I wish the hard drive capacity could have been bigger.

I love my S50

Strengths: Great all in one product. Satellite radio, MP3 player and radio Tivo all built into one. This was designed to be a primary car/home product with the ability to go mobile.

Weakness: Still has some kinks to work out. Trys to do to many things and does none of them perfect.

Unlike a lot of users I personally love my S50. I have been using it for about two weeks now and it fits my needs perfectly. My routine is as follows: Put the S50 in the car at night and since I live on the West Coast it tapes Howard from 3AM to 7AM, so when I leave for work in the morning I have the entire Howard show at my disposal. I listen to Howard as I drive to the Park and Ride and then...

buy the extended warranty

Strengths: good color screen, portable mp3 player

Weakness: must be rebooted when signal is lost, connection to docking station not very secure

I purchased this player for xmas and I liked the fact that it was a portable mp3player, the fact that it did not receive live radio was not a concern, I would just listen to a reordered program. The only issue I have w/this unit is when you are listening to the radio and you start up the car, it might need to be rebooted; in this case you have to take the battery out and reset it. It's a hassle....

Very Cool!

Strengths: Ability to play mp3's and Sirius programming. Display. NFL Radio.

Weakness: None yet.

I haven't really had a chance to play around with it too much yet. My initial impressions are that it is very cool. I am coming from a Sportster Replay, and have had a MyFi and a SkyFi2 on XM. This combines the best of both, really. The ability to go back at any time, and the ability to record. Now if it would only include the SkyFi2 feature of being able to change channels and still keep the...

Good unit but not what it's cracked up to be!

Strengths: Excellent Screen Resolution and Ability to play MP3's

Weakness: Won't sit securely in the docking station and causes lose of connectivity...requires reboot. Unit often "freezes" and must be rebooted.

This is my second unit, as the first one "fried" for reasons unknown. However, one thing that was common to both units is that the connection between the media play and docking station is TERRIBLE. If the unit isn't sitting perfectly straight in the docking station, the unit will not be functional. By the way, it may "look" like it's properly seated, but it won't boot up. And don't try to reboot...

STERN NATION RIPP-OFF ALERT!!!

Strengths: If you only want it to work in your Car its ok.

Weakness: NO FM TRANSMITTER IN HOME DOCKING STATION! WHAT A RIPP!

Pure rip-off of the STERN NATION. You fork out $300+ taxes, to get the S50 to work in your office/home where most of us will listen to HOWARD. You pop down another $100+ for the HOME DOC kit, this will be the end of it, right? NOPE The home kit does not allow for the FM TRANSMITTER to function. WHAT A DISASTER! It allows a RCA jack into your Home Stereo. This means no access to your CLOCK or...

Polished Turd but still a Turd!

Strengths: Great looking, Color

Weakness: Everything elses

I am currently on my second S50 Radio and was told on Christmas when I called the crack support team at Sirius that I again would need to exchange for another radio. My initial purchase was November 27 and I had nothing but problems from there on. The system would never find a signal, the device would hang or lockup causing the need to reboot (I had to reboot so much I thought it was a Microsoft...
