Add this one to the pile of bad Jimmy Reed reissues currently glutting the compact disc bins. Like the others, there's certainly nothing wrong with the song lineup, a solid 20 track-assembly of Reed's best-known tunes. Also like the others, however, the transfers range from sloppy to downright indifferent. Although listed as "stereo" on the front, almost everything on here is in mono, the majority lifted off of very scratchy records with the entire intro of "Baby What You Want Me to Do" edited out for no earthly reason. Pass right by this one -- even if it's offered at bargain prices -- and grab the Rhino version instead. ~ Cub Koda minimize Album Information
