Additional personnel: Bruce Fitzhugh (vocals); Aaron Sprinkle (guitar, keyboards, programming); Chris Carmichael (strings); Shaun Lopez (Theremin).

God-fearing metalheads Demon Hunter make a racket that would surely be labeled evil by anyone not listening closely; they appear to be influenced by such practitioners of darkness as Slayer and Pantera. Perhaps the only indication of the band's alliance with the powers of good is a marked ear for melody, showing up amidst the otherwise muscular, heavy, metal-core mayhem.

Demon Hunter sparingly employs more traditional vocals and moody textures throughout the roaring, rapid firestorm of the songs. "Lead Us Home" has an anthemic chorus, and "Fading Away" balances poppier sounds with a tight, metallic breakdown. Even if rock is the "devil's music," Demon Hunter aren't afraid to use it to get their point across. minimize
