Best of the Norfolk Sound collects material recorded for the Norfolk, VA, labels Legrand and SPQR, under the auspices of producer (and frequent songwriter) Frank Guida. Guida's two best-known artists, Jimmy Soul and Gary U.S. Bonds, are represented by their smash hits "If You Wanna Be Happy" and "Quarter to Three," respectively, plus a few more tracks by each. There are also songs by the Church Street Five ("A Night With Daddy 'G'"), Barbara Redd, Garland Owens, the Sheiks, the Rockmasters, and more.
