Considering that the Starecase were only together for two years and left behind a mere handful of tracks (including five that still remain unissued at press time), this ten track "very best of" seems incomplete, as it only compiles less than half of their total recordings as a band. But zeroing in on their singles and leaving off the album ballast cover material isn't such a bad thing, as these ten sides reveal strong singing and songwriting from vocalist/guitarist Pat Upton, keeping this collection extremely focused. The production work of Gary Usher on "Baby What I Mean," "Makin' My Mind Up," "I'll Run" and "Inside, Outside, Upside Down" make for an interesting comparison to Sonny Knight's work on "More Today Than Yesterday" and the other tracks aboard this scant but solid collection. ~ Cub Koda minimize Track ListingAlbum Information
