The Bose QuietComfort 2 headphones not only dramatically reduce outside noise, but also make your music sound great. Patented Acoustic Noise Cancelling? technology minimizes unwanted sounds like engine roar and background chatter, while delivering warm, full audio from portable music players or in-flight films. These headphones are perfect for travel. Bose's innovative TriPort? technology allows deep, rich bass from a lightweight earcup design, which means they're especially comfortable for long hours of listening. The single-sided cord helps resist tangling. You also get convenient portability ? the earcups fold flat for easy storage in the included case, and the battery compartment is located inside the headset. Since there's no separate battery box, you can disconnect the cord altogether to enjoy noise reduction without audio playback. minimize

5 Star Review Bose QC2 Headphones - The Best in the Business

Strengths:

Incredible sound, extremely comfortable, can be used without the cord, different settings for the airplane vs. other devices, nice protective carrying case.

Weaknesses:

A little bulky to carry around and they do not work at all without a battery (even if you don't want the noise canceling).

Posted Nov 30, 2006 - I purchased these on sale this summer before I went on a week long business trip to South America. Before the Bose QC2s I had tried cheaper versions from Altec Lansing and Magnavox. Those headphones always worked "so-so" but they never blocked enough noise, were a little uncomfortable, and they *always* had a buzz or hum associated with the noise canceling feature. Sure the Bose headphones ended up being 5 times as much but boy are they worth it. They are so comfortable to wear and they sound incredible! My wife just used them on a trip to Europe and she gave the same feedback...they were a lifesaver. Some people say that Bose products are all hype and maybe some are, but the QC2's are the real deal. I'd buy another pair in a heartbeat. My only two complaints are that the cases is a little bulky (but very protective compared to the "bags" you get with cheaper headphones) and that you can't use them without the noise canceling feature if your battery dies. The latter problem is easily remedied by carrying an extra AAA battery or two in the convenient pouch located in the carrying case.
